GPDNet Intranet Website Development
The Project:
To obtain program enrollment projections from college leadership, an annual task historically ignored. My idea was to engage the audience through an informational internal platform which the user would be allowed to engage with on a frequent basis. This acted as a catalyst to submit annual enrollment projections.
The Details:
Working with a WordPress programmer, we developed an "intranet", the first of its kind at the institution. GPDNet.uncc.edu offers instant information and resources to help the Graduate Program Director (GPD) in their role. The design features include:
- A Home page (above) consisting of news items and important deadlines;
- A Resource and Best Practice section including recorded workshop sessions;
- Instant access to update their program information which populates on the Graduate Admissions website.
This “empowerment” bolstered their commitment to being an integral part of the Graduate School's success. Enrollment projection submission increased to 75% in the first year of GPDNet’s release with additional increases thereafter netting a 98% submission rate to date.
